Report on Vaccination of the staff members of Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations operating in Quang Tri Province

The Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam has become unpredictable with complicated developments and the trends are getting worse. Recent months have seen a huge number of Covid-19 new infection cases in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and many other southern provinces, even in Quang Tri Province.
Since May 2021, in addition to application of strict measures for fighting the COVID-19 outbreak, Quang Tri Province’s Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control has assigned the provincial Department of Health and other relevant agencies to make preparation for conducting vaccination campaigns for different prioritized groups.
On 20 July 2021, Quang Tri Department of Foreign Affairs requested the Province’s Committee for COVID-19 to approve on a plan to conduct vaccination for national employees and foreign expats, who work for foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in Quang Tri Province. The request originated from the practical needs related to the nature of work that these NGOs staff members have to do, including traveling back and forth in at-risks areas such as border areas and highly-populated ones.
The following table indicates of the number of staff members and expats working for humanitarian mine action organizations to whichQuang Tri Department of Foreign Affairs requested for vaccination:

In the last week of July 2021, following the approval of Quang Tri Province’s Committee for COVID-19, Quang Tri Department of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the above NGOs management boards to make plans for vaccination of their corresponding registered staff members.
On 3 August 2021, the vaccination campaigns for the above mine action NGOs were launched at different district level health centers designated by the Department of Health.
As of 17 August, all the staff members and expats of these mine action NGOs have received their first doses of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca, with details as follows:
